California's ONLY All Relay Team Triathlon offers a seriously challenging and fun race course with CLIF Bar products, samples, raffle prizes and more, plus hot post race food, and free athlete massage. Awards are given five-deep in each of ten divisions: Male, Coed, Female, Family, Corporate, Youth (under 19), Masters Male (over 40), Masters Female(over 40), Police/Firefighter and Spare Time Clubs.

Teams: $90 til December 1, 2012, $110 til June 3, 2013, $130 til race day, $150 on race day.
Individual: $70 until race day, $80 day of race.
Total Body Fitness, to show support for our local Police and Firefighters - is offering FREE Entry into the Spare Time Team Challenge Triathlon to the first 50 Teams that sign up in the Police/Firefighter Division. Team members can be active or retired members of the Police or Fire Force and must show ID at packet pick up on race morning.

The Spare Time Team Challenge Triathlon will start at 9 am with one mass start.

Swim - The race starts from the Granite Beach in Folsom Lake with a .75 mile swim from the beach area. The swim course will be a triangular course marked by the large white triangular buoys. Water temperature should be approximately 56 degrees. Wetsuits are recommended. The swim will exit the lake and head up the beach and on a grassy path to the transition area located in the parking area.
Bike - The 13-mile bike course is a TWO-LAP course located entirely within the park on roads closed to traffic. The bike course is windy and has several sharp small hills and tight turns. It is STRONGLY recommended that you ride the course ahead of time. Caution is advised on several of the turns as they wind through the hills and oak trees that surround Folsom Lake. After the second loop you will return into the transition area. Course maps will be available on race morning at Registration. The Bike course will Not have an aid station. Water and Electrolyte Beverage, along with Energy gels will be available in the transition area.
Run - The 5-mile run course leaves transition and runs on single-track trails along the lake back towards Beal’s Point. The out and back course has 3 aid stations that will be stocked with water, electolyte beverage, and energy gels. The finish is back at the start area at the Granite Beach. ALL athletes must wear their race number on the front of their body during the run and have it when crossing the finish line. View the new 2013 course map
Transition Area - The Transition area will be on a first-come basis, with the exception of Reserved Bike Racks for TRI Clubs. The transition area at all TBF Racing events is for athletes only. All non-athletes must remain outside of the transition area at all times on race day. Bodymarking will be take place at the entrance to the transition area and must be completed before you enter the transition area. Athletes will have their race number marked on their legs and arms and have their age division on their calf. Glass or bottles are not allowed in the transition area.
Aid stations will be located in the transition area and at miles 1, 2.5 and 3 on the run course, serving cold water, CLIF Gel Shots, and Electrolyte beverage.
There will be awards five deep in each division for the Spare Time Team Challenge Triathlon for each of the eight divisions. The first place team in each division will receive three boxes of Clif Bars in addition to their awards.
Expected water temperature for Folsom Lake will be 54-58 degrees. Wetsuits are recommended. Swim fins and snorkels are not allowed. Helmets must be worn and buckled on the bike at all times. Run numbers must be worn on the run and when crossing the finish line. Listening devices of any kind: MP3, IPod, headphones, etc... are not allowed.
Included for each competitor is a Spare Time Team Challenge Triathlon custom combed-cotton race shirt, an XTERRA swim cap, athlete goody bag with CLIF Bar and Emerald Nuts product samples.
Post Race Athlete Food:
Included for each competitor is a post race meal of hot pasta with salad, fruit, cookies and beverage.
The post race sports expo will have vendors such as Total Body Fitness, Fleet Feet Sports, and Kinetic Cycles.
Free post race athlete massage will be provided courtesy of National Holistic Institute of Sacramento and Bryan College Massage Clinic and Bryan College.
If you are a member of a Triathlon Club that has 10 or more athletes racing with TBF Racing we can provide Reserved bike racks in the transition area for your club, have your club set up a tent in the expo/athlete area, and hang your banners at the event. To take advantage of this program, TRI Clubs must send the list of 10 or more pre-registered athletes to Bill@totalbodyfitness.com 7-10 days prior to the race.
Training and Coaching:
TBF Training provides group workouts and coaching for the sport of Triathlon along with individual Multi-Sport Coaching and Personal Training.
