Sierra Trail Half Marathon and 5K
The Sierra Trail Half Marathon and 5K will be run on fantastic, scenic, single track trails that travel along the shoreline of Folsom Lake and through the forested foothills of south Placer County.

Fees:
Sierra Trail Half Marathon $45 til 9/27, $55 until race day. $65 race day
5K Run/Walk $25/$30 on race day

Packet pick up: Saturday October 20 from 7-9 am at Race Site.

Join the Sacramento Trail Running Class. Leave the treadmills and pavement behind. Get outdoors and experience the nature and beauty of trail running. Our trail running class will improve your strength, speed, stamina and trail running skills. The 10-week class meets three times per week for only $99.

Course Description:

The Sierra Trail Half Marathon starts along the shore of Folsom Lake and after a short section on pavement begins climbing the small hills of the shoreline for an out and back course that veers once to a scenic point along the lake and returns up some short but steep hills, with aid stations spread evenly along the course. There is a climb up Mooney Ridge on the way back to the finish line.

Aid Stations:
Aid stations will be located on the course at miles 1, 2.5, 3.5, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 – each serving cold water, Electrolyte beverage, and CLIF Shot energy gels and Bloks.

Divisions/Awards:
First place Overall Male and Female in the Sierra Trail Half Marathon will receive Overall Champion Awards. There will be awards three deep in each ten-year age group for the Sierra Trail Half Marathon.

For the 5K Run/Walk there will be a first place overall award for the top male and female individual, and awards will be given to the top three athletes in each ten-year age group for male and female runners.

Sierra Nevada Trail Challenge:
The Sierra Nevada Trail Challenge competition combines your finish time from the Sierra Trail Half Marathon on Saturday October 22nd with your finish time as a Solo Rider from the TBF MTB 50 Miler mountain bike race on Sunday October 23rd.  The top male and female athletes with the fastest time from both days will win a Free Cruiser Bicycle worth over $500. All athletes racing both days will be automatically entered into the Sierra Nevada Trail Challenge.

Equipment:
Listening devices: MP3, IPod, headphones, etc…ARE allowed in the Sierra Trail Half Marathon. Runners must exercise caution when crossing any roads and must pay attention at all times when running trails.


Race Extras

Competitor Goodies:
Athletes entered in the Sierra Trail Half Marathon will receive a custom SweatVac tech-tee race shirt, and athlete goody bag with CLIF Bar and Emerald Nuts product samples.

Post Race Athlete Food:
Included for each competitor is a post race
meal of hot pasta with salad, fruit, cookies and beverage.

Sports Expo:
The post race sports expo will have vendors such as Total Body Fitness, EFX, Fleet Feet Sports, and Kinetic Cycles.

Athlete Massage:
Free post race athlete massage will be provided courtesy of National Holistic Institute of Sacramento.

TRI Clubs:
If you are a member of a Triathlon Club that has 10 or more athletes racing with TBF Racing we can provide Reserved bike racks in the transition area for your club, have your club set up a tent in the expo/athlete area, and hang your banners at the event. To take advantage of this program, TRI Clubs must send the list of 10 or more pre-registered athletes to Bill@totalbodyfitness.com 7-10 days prior to the race.

Training and Coaching:
TBF Training provides group workouts and coaching for the sport of Triathlon along with individual Multi-Sport Coaching and Personal Training.

Race Gear:
Look your best and race your best with TBF Triathlon apparel. Bike jerseys, Tri Singlets, and Tri Shorts are available in both male and female styles/sizes.

TBF Apparel:

Volunteering:

Refunds and Transfers:
TBF Racing has a No Refund policy on all of our events. A Refund requested prior to race week will be given a TBF Race credit for the amount of the entry fee minus $25 processing fee. Credits will not be given during race week. Transfers will be allowed from one TBF Racing event to another within a one-year time frame. There will be a $25 transfer fee. Transfers will not be allowed during race week.
