The Sacramento International Triathlon is USAT Sanctioned for 2013, and held at Discovery Park, Sacramento, California. The course has a 1.5 k swim - 40 k bike - 10 k run. Included with each entry is a custom Sacramento International Triathlon tech-tee race shirt, plus athlete goody bag, division awards, post race hot food, raffle prizes, and free parking.
There will be an Aqua Bike option available this year with the Sacramento International Triathlon.
The Sacramento International Triathlon will be USAT Sanctioned for 2012, requiringholding of an annual membership card with USAT or the purchase of a $12 one-day license with USAT on race day.
Sacramento International Triathlon Distance: Swim .93 miles (1.5k) – Bike 24.8 miles (40k) – Run 6.2 miles (10k)
Sacramento Aqua Bike Distance: 1.5km swim - 40 km Bike 40 kilometers
Sacramento International Triathlon: $80 til December 1, 2012, $90 til June 10, 2013, $100 til race day, $110 on race day
Athletes 18 and under: $65 til December 1, 2012, $75 til June 10, 2013, $85 til race day, $95 on race day
Relay Teams: $100 til December 1, 2012, $120 til June 10, 2013, 2013, $140 til race day.
Sacramento Aqua Bike: $50 til December 1, 2012, $60 til June 17, 2013, $70 til race day, $80 on race day

Wave 1 at 8:00 am: Men 34 and under

Swim - The race starts from the beach in Discovery Park, across the bridge from the Transition area, finish line and athlete parking. The swim will be a 1.5K in the American River, starting upstream and ending downstream on the opposite side of the American River. There is a staircase up the riverbank to the transition area. Bike - The 40K bike course is four laps and is on closed local roads. Athletes are responsible for counting their own bike laps to insure they finish all four laps. Athletes not completing all four bike laps will be disqualified. The Bike course will not have an aid station. Water and Electrolyte Beverage, along with energy gels will be available in the transition area. Bike course (PDF)
Run – The 10K run course is a fast out and back course along the beautiful American River Parkway. There will be aid stations at the start of the run and at miles 1, 3, and 5. ALL athletes must wear their race number on the front of their body during the run and have it when crossing the finish line. Run course (PDF)
Transition Area - The Transition area will be on a first-come basis, with the exception of Reserved Bike Racks for TRI Clubs. The transition area at all TBF Racing events is for athletes only. All non-athletes must remain outside of the transition area at all times on race day. Bodymarking will be take place at the entrance to the transition area and must be completed before you enter the transition area. Athletes will have their race number marked on their legs and arms and have their age division on their calf. Glass or bottles are not allowed in the transition area.
Aid stations will be located in the transition area and at mile one and two on the run course, serving cold water, energy gels, and electrolyte beverage.
FFirst place Overall Male and Female in the Sacramento International Triathlon will receive Overall Champion Awards. There will be awards five deep in each five-year age group for the Saturday Intl Triathlon. Relay Team awards will be for the Top three teams in each Division of Male, Female and Coed.
Expected water temperature for American River, Discovery Park will be 68-74 degrees. Wetsuits are allowed. Swim fins and snorkels are not allowed. Helmets must be worn and buckled on the bike at all times. Run numbers must be worn on the run and when crossing the finish line. Listening devices of any kind: MP3, IPod, headphones, etc... are not allowed.
Included for each competitor is a Sacramento International Triathlon tech-tee race shirt, swim cap, athlete goody bag with CLIF Bar, Emerald Nuts and other product samples.
Post Race Athlete Food:
Included for each competitor is a post race meal of hot pasta with meat and vegetarian protein options, salad, fruit, cookies and beverage.
The post race sports expo will have vendors such as Total Body Fitness, TRI Addicts, Fleet Feet Sports, and Kinetic Cycles.
Free post race athlete massage will be provided courtesy of National Holistic Institute of Sacramento and Bryan College.

Refunds and Transfers:
TBF Racing has a No Refund policy on all of our events. A Refund requested prior to race week will be given a TBF Race credit for the amount of the entry fee minus $25 processing fee. Credits will not be given during race week. Transfers will be allowed from one TBF Racing event to another within a one-year time frame. There will be a $25 transfer fee. Transfers will not be allowed during race week.
