Race Details

The Sacramento International Triathlon is USAT Sanctioned for 2012, and held at Discovery Park, Sacramento, California. The course has a 1.5 k swim - 40 k bike - 10 k run. Included with each entry is a custom Sacramento International Triathlon tech-tee race shirt, plus athlete goody bag, division awards, post race hot food, raffle prizes, and free parking.

The Sacramento International Triathlon will be USAT Sanctioned for 2012, requiringholding of an annual membership card with USAT or the purchase of a $12 one-day license with USAT on race day.

Sacramento International Triathlon Distance: Swim .93 miles (1.5k) – Bike 24.8 miles (40k) – Run 6.2 miles (10k)

Fees:
Sacramento Int’l Triathlon $85 until May 28, $95 until race day, $105 race day
Athletes 19 and under $75/$95 race day
Sacramento Int’l Relay Team $130/$150 race day

Start Time: Sacramento Triathlon 8:00 am
Packet pick up: Race morning at race venue from 6:30 til 8 am.

Wave Starts:
Wave 1 at 8:00 am: Men 34 and under
Wave 2 at 8:05 am: Men 35 to 44
Wave 3 at 8:10 am: Men 45+ and Clydesdale Athletes
Wave 4 at 8:15 am: Women 29 and under and Athena Athletes
Wave 5 at 8:20 am: Women 30 to 39
Wave 6 at 8:25 am: Women 40+ and all Relay Teams

Transition Area - The Transition area will be on a first-come basis, with the exception of Reserved Bike Racks for TRI Clubs. The transition area at all TBF Racing events is for athletes only. All non-athletes must remain outside of the transition area at all times on race day. Bodymarking will be take place at the entrance to the transition area and must be completed before you enter the transition area. Athletes will have their race number marked on their legs and arms and have their age division on their calf. Glass or bottles are not allowed in the transition area.

Aid Stations:
Aid stations will be located in the transition area and at mile one and two on the run course, serving cold water, energy gels, and electrolyte beverage.

Divisions/Awards:
First place Overall M and Female in the Sacramento International Triathlon will receive Overall Champion Awards. There will be awards five deep in each five-year age group for the Saturday Intl Triathlon. Relay Team awards will be for the Top three teams in each Division of M, Female and Coed.

Equipment:
Expected water temperature for American River, Discovery Park will be 68-74 degrees. Wetsuits are allowed. Swim fins and snorkels are not allowed. Helmets must be worn and buckled on the bike at all times. Run numbers must be worn on the run and when crossing the finish line. Listening devices of any kind: MP3, IPod, headphones, etc... are not allowed.

Competitor Goodies:
Included for each competitor is a Sacramento International Triathlon tech-tee race shirt, XTERRA swim cap, athlete goody bag with CLIF Bar, Emerald Nuts and other product samples.

Post Race Athlete Food:
Included for each competitor is a post race meal of hot pasta with meat and vegetarian protein options, salad, fruit, cookies and beverage.

Sports Expo:
The post race sports expo will have vendors such as Total Body Fitness, TRI Addicts, EFX, Fleet Feet Sports, and Kinetic Cycles.

Athlete Massage:
Free post race athlete massage will be provided courtesy of National Holistic Institute of Sacramento.

Training and Coaching:
TBF Training provides group workouts and coaching for the sport of Triathlon along with individual Multi-Sport Coaching and Personal Training.

 

Race Gear:
Look your best and race your best with TBF Triathlon apparel. Bike jerseys, Tri Singlets, and Tri Shorts are available in both male and female styles/sizes.
