Series Champions will receive Custom TBF Championship Apparel Awards in each 10 year age group for Novice, Sport and Expert divisions, plus Single Speed. Athletes must race in all three MTB Challenges to qualify. Series Champions win also free entries into all three 2009 MTB Challenges.

Race Features
The MTB Challenge features an awesome six-mile course that Expert division riders will do 4 times, Sport and Single-Speed division riders 3 times, Novice riders, twice with First Timers and Juniors completing one lap. Awards to top three males and females in each division (except first-timers).
The course features a fun, challenging combination of twisting single-track, wide double track, rolling cross-country with some sand and a bit of pavement

| TBF Racing presents our 8th year of Mountain Bike racing at Granite Bay on Folsom Lake. The MTB Challenge is mountain bike racing for everyone. The course features a fun, challenging combination of twisting single-track, wide double track and rolling cross-country. The course is perfect for first-timers and exciting fun for all levels, the faster you go the more fun it is! All events are rain or shine, the course is great to ride in all weather.

Divisions |
First Timer: 1 lap – 7 miles
Junior (14-under): 1 lap – 7 miles
Novice: 2 laps – 14 miles
Sport/Single-Speed: 3 laps – 21 miles
Expert: 4 laps – 28 miles
The First Timer and Junior divisions will have no age groups. There will be 10-year age groups in the Novice, Sport and Expert division; 19-, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60+. There will be an Open (39 years and under) and a Masters (40+) category in the Single Speed division.

Awards |
Awards will be given to the top three athletes (male and female) in each the First Timer and Junior division. Awards will be given to the top three athletes (male and female) in each 10 year age-groups: 19-under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60+, in the Novice, Sport, and Expert divisions. Awards will be given to the top three athletes (male and female) in each of the categories: Open (39 and under) and Masters (40+) in the Single-Speed division.
Series Champions will receive Custom TBF Long-sleeved Championship Apparel in each 10 year age group for Novice, Sport and Expert divisions. Series Champions will also be crowned and awarded for the Junior division and the two categories of the Single Speed division. Athletes must race in all three MTB Challenges in the SAME Division in order to qualify.

Course Description and Map |
The MTB Challenge race course is on multi-use trails within the Granite Bay State Park on Folsom Lake. The course features a fun, challenging combination of twisting single-track, wide double track, rolling cross-country with some sand and a bit of pavement. The course is perfect for first-timers and exciting fun for all levels, the faster you go the more fun it is! All events are rain or shine, the course is great to ride in all weather.

Race Numbers |
Bike numbers must be attached and be visible on your bike at all times during the ride. Run numbers must be worn on your front when crossing the finish line.

Rules and Regulations |
Bike Course
Bike Course - ALL athletes MUST wear a helmet the entire time while riding their bikes. Failure to have your helmet on or buckled at any time on the bike will result in DISQUALIFICATION. This includes while riding your bike in or out of the transition area during warm-up and cool down.
Use of headphones or other listening devices during ALL portions of the race ARE NOT ALLOWED.

Finish Line |
After crossing the finish line please take a cold water or Clif Shot Recovery Drink and cool water and continue walking to allow your body to cool down. You should remain active for 10 to 15 minutes while you are drinking and re-fueling your body. If you need medical attention or are feeling unwell please proceed to the TBF Medical Tent or notify a TBF Volunteer that you need medical attention.

Packet Pick-up |
Packet pick-up and registration will be available from 7:00 am to 8:30 am at the race start/finish area at Granite Beach of Folsom Lake, Granite Bay.

TBF Nutrition |
Clif Bars are provided in all athlete goody bags. Clif Shot Electrolyte Drink and water are available in transition and on the run courses. Clif Shot Energy Gels are available on the run courses. Clif Shot Recovery Drink and Vitamin Water are available at the finish line. Red Bull Energy Drink is available at all TBF Racing events.

At TBF Racing we are committed to kids health and fitness. As part of this, we have a number of mountain bike, duathlon, triathlon and trail running races for kids in 2009 including the NEW Roseville TRI for KIDS on May 16.
In Spring:
January 24: FREE TBF Day Kids Mountain Bike Race
Feb. - March: The Chanoko KIDS Mountain Bike Duathlon, KIDS Jr. Duathlon and Trail Runs will be on Feb. 7, Feb. 21 and March 7.
May: NEW Roseville Schools TRI for KIDS
In Summer:
There will be five TRI for KIDS Triathlon races (each with two age divisions) in the summertime. These events are on June 7, July 12, August 9, August 29 and September 12.
The Sept. 12 events is both an open TRI for KIDS race plus the TRI for KIDS Championship
In the late Summer, there's the KIDS Granite Bay one-mile Trail Run on September 27.
Plus, there are many Short Course Triathlons and Super-Sprint Triathlons that are very suitable for kids.

Spectators are welcome at the Mountain Bike Challenge and all TBF Racing events. Spectator food and drinks will be available for sale and free coffee is available in the morning. Stop by the TBF booth at the expo and find out how you can learn the sport of Triathlon through TBF Training

Refund and Transfer Policy |
TBF Racing has a No Refund policy on all of our events. A Refund requested prior to race week will be given a TBF Race credit for the amount of the entry fee minus $25 processing fee. Credits will not be given during race week. Transfers will be allowed from one TBF Racing event to another within a one-year time frame. There will be a $25 transfer fee. Transfers will not be allowed during race week.
