Race Details

The Women's Triathlon is now on a Saturday with a Full Festival of Events! Back again are FOUR Women's Multi-Sport Events: The Triathlon and Duathlon, plus the Super Sprint Triathlon and Duathlon. Each athlete registered for the Women’s Triathlon Festival will receive a custom tech-tee race shirt, athlete goody bag, swim cap, and post race meal. Race as an individual or as part of a Relay Team - Join the FUN!

Triathlon Distance: Swim .5 miles – Bike 20 miles – Run 4 miles
Duathlon Distance: Run 2 miles – Bike 20 miles – Run 4 miles
Super Sprint Tri Distance: Swim 200 yards – Bike 4 miles – Run 1 mile
Super Sprint Duathlon Distance: Run 1 mile – Bike 4 miles – Run 1 mile


Fees: Triathlon:$65 until 7/1/11, $85 until race day, $90 on race day
Duathlon: $60 until 7/1/11, $70 until race day, $75 on race day
Triathlon Relay Team: $100, race day $120
Duathlon Relay Team: $90, race day $110
Super Sprint Tri/Du , $55 until race day, $65 race day  
  

Start Times: Super Sprint Triathlon/Duathlon 7:30 am | Triathlon/Duathlon 8:30 am

Packet pick up:
Packets may be picked up race morning from 6 am to 8:30 am at the race site. The race will start promptly at 8:00 am. Be sure to give yourself plenty of time for entrance to the park, parking, transition set-up and warm-up. Your entry fee into the park is included in your Race entry fee.

Race Features

Women’s Triathlon Festival Events:

Wave Starts:
Super Sprint Triathlon/Duathlon will start at 7:30 am. There will be two waves for the Triathlon each 5 minutes apart. There will be one mass start for the Duathlon. 
7:30 am Wave one: Women 39 and under
7:35 am Wave two: Women 40 and over

The Triathlon will start at 8:30 am with five waves, each 5 minutes apart. There will be one mass start for the Duathlon.
8:30 am Wave one: Women 29 and under
8:35 am Wave two: Women 30 - 34
8:40 am Wave three: Women 35 - 39
8:45 am Wave four: Women 40 - 44
8:50 am Wave five: Women 45+, Athena athletes, and Relay Teams

Course Description:
Swim Courses - The race starts from the beach in with a .5 mile swim from the beach area. The swim course will be a triangular course in Rancho Seco Lake marked by the large white triangular buoys. Water temperature should be approximately 70 degrees. Wetsuits are allowed. The swim will exit the lake and head up the beach and on a grassy path to the transition area located in the parking area.

Bike Courses - The bike course for the Triathlon/Duathlon is a 20 mile out-and-back course from Rancho Seco Park on Twin Cities Road. The course will be patrolled by CHP and will allow passing. Please ride safely at all times. You will exit the transition area and then mount your bike. From there you will exit the park and make a right hand turn on Hwy 104, making a U-turn at the turn around point and returning to the park. Please be careful while on the road. Riders must stay to the right at all times! Riders must not draft other riders: You must maintain at least THREE bike lengths at all times behind the rider in front of you, and you MUST ride single file while on the Highway. Passing is allowed in a timely manner when it is safe to do so. After passing return to the right side of the road and continue to ride safely. Failure to do so will result in a drafting penalty or disqualification. Crossing the centerline at ANY time will also result in disqualification. Proceed to the turn around on Hwy 104 and return to the park. Traffic has the right-of-way on the road so ride CAREFULLY. The Bike course will Not have an aid station. Water and electrolyte beverage, along with energy gels will be available in the transition area.

The Super Sprint Triathlon/Duathlon bike course will be 4 miles and completely contained with the Rancho Seco Park on roads closed to traffic. Please ride carefully and observe the speed bumps in the park.

Run Courses - The first run for the Duathlon starts at the end of the transition area and runs out and back for 2 miles on the same course as the second run. The Triathlon/Duathlon 4-mile run course exits from the transition area and runs around part of the lake on dirt trails. There will be three aid stations on the 4- mile run course.

The Super Sprint Tri 1 mile run course will exit transition area and have an aid station before turning at a half-mile and returning to the finish line.

ALL athletes must wear their race number on the front of their body during the run and have it when crossing the finish line.

Transition Area - The Transition area will be on a first-come basis, with the exception of Reserved Bike Racks for TRI Clubs. The transition area at all TBF Racing events is for athletes only. All non-athletes must remain outside of the transition area at all times on race day. Bodymarking will be take place at the entrance to the transition area and must be completed before you enter the transition area. Athletes will have their race number marked on their legs and arms and have their age division on their calf. Glass or bottles are not allowed in the transition area.

Aid Stations:
Aid stations will be located in the transition area and at mile one and two on the run course, serving cold water, energy gels, and electrolyte beverage.

Divisions/Awards:
First place Overall Female in the Triathlon will receive an Overall Champion Award. There will be awards five deep in each five-year age group for the Triathlon. Relay Team awards will be three deep.

Equipment:
Expected water temperature for Rancho Seco Park Lake will be 72-76 degrees. Wetsuits are allowed. Swim fins and snorkels are not allowed. Helmets must be worn and buckled on the bike at all times. Run numbers must be worn on the run and when crossing the finish line. Listening devices of any kind: MP3, IPod, headphones, etc.. are not allowed.


Race Extras

Finisher Medals:
Presented to each competitor as they cross the Finish Line at all of the Women's Triathlon Festival events will be a custom Women's Triathlon Festival Finisher Medal.

Competitor Goodies:
Each athlete entered in one of the Women’s Triathlon Festival events will receive with their entry fee a custom Women’s Triathlon Festival SweatVac tech tee race shirt, post race hot meal, athlete goody bag, and a chance for raffle prizes. Also included is a free Kids Play Area, free coffee, and free parking.

Post Race Athlete Food:
Included for each competitor is a post race
meal of hot pasta with salad, fruit, cookies and beverage.

Race Course and Finish Line Photography:
Action photographs before, during and after the event will be taken by James Pratt Photography, the Official Race Photographer for Total Body Fitness, and available online at James Pratt Photography after the race.

Sports Expo:
The post race sports expo will have vendors such as Total Body Fitness, EFX, Fleet Feet Sports, and Kinetic Cycles, LUNA Bar, Starbucks, US Cryotherapy, HealthSource Chiropractic, Active Life Chiropractic, FLUID recovery drink, Bicycles Plus, Fleet Feet Sports, and Tri Sports Jewelry.

Athlete Massage:
Free post race athlete massage will be provided courtesy of National Holistic Institute of Sacramento.

TRI Clubs:
If you are a member of a Triathlon Club that has 10 or more athletes racing with TBF Racing we can provide Reserved bike racks in the transition area for your club, have your club set up a tent in the expo/athlete area, and hang your banners at the event. To take advantage of this program, TRI Clubs must send the list of 10 or more pre-registered athletes to Bill@totalbodyfitness.com 7-10 days prior to the race.

Training and Coaching:
TBF Training provides group workouts and coaching for the sport of Triathlon along with individual Multi-Sport Coaching and Personal Training.

Race Gear:

Refunds and Transfers:
TBF Racing has a No Refund policy on all of our events. A Refund requested prior to race week will be given a TBF Race credit for the amount of the entry fee minus $25 processing fee. Credits will not be given during race week. Transfers will be allowed from one TBF Racing event to another within a one-year time frame. There will be a $25 transfer fee. Transfers will not be allowed during race week.
