Kickstart Duathlon Distance: Run 2 mile – Bike 6.5 miles – Run 2 mile


Kickstart Duathlon: $40 til December 1st, $50 til race day, $60 race day
18 and under: $30 til December 1st, $40 til race day, $45 race day
Relay Teams: $70 til December 1st, $80 til race day, $90 race day

Race Features

Course Description:
Run – The 2 mile run course is the same for both legs of the race. The course will run on granite paths, single track trails, and a small section on pavement with an aid station at the start of the run and the half way point.

Bike - The 6.5 mile road bike course is on closed roads within Folsom Lake State Park. The course has several turns and twisting corners winding through the oak forest bordering Folsom Lake. Care should be taken on several sharp turns so as not to exceed safe speed limits.

Transition Area - The Transition area will be on a first-come basis. The transition area at all TBF Racing events is for athletes only. All non-athletes must remain outside of the transition area at all times on race day. Bodymarking will be take place at the entrance to the transition area and must be completed before you enter the transition area. Athletes will have their race number marked on their legs and arms and have their age division on their calf. Glass or bottles are not allowed in the transition area.

Aid Stations:
Aid stations will be located in the transition area and at mile one on the run course, serving cold water, and Electrolyte beverage.

For the Kickstart Duathlon there will be 10-year age groups beginning with 19 and under and ending with 70+ for male and female individuals. Awards will be presented three-deep in each 10-year age group, with Overall Special Awards to first M and Female finisher. For Relay Teams there will be first place for each division: male, female, and coed teams.

Listening devices of any kind: MP3, IPod, headphones, etc…are not allowed on the run or bike course. Helmets must be worn and buckled on the bike at all times. Run numbers must be worn on the run and when crossing the finish line.

Race Extras

Competitor Goodies:
 Included for each competitor in the Kickstart Duathlon is a custom tech-tee race shirt and athlete goody bag with CLIF Bar and Emerald Nuts product samples. Athletes entered in the Short Track MTB Race will receive an athlete goody bag and post race meal.

Post Race Athlete Food:
Included for each competitor is a post race meal of hot pasta with salad, fruit, cookies and beverage.

Sports Expo:
The post race sports expo will have vendors such as Total Body Fitness, Fleet Feet Sports, and Kinetic Cycles.

Training and Coaching:
TBF Training provides group workouts and coaching for the sport of Triathlon along with individual Multi-Sport Coaching and Personal Training.
