GraniteMan Triathlon and Duathlon

The GraniteMan Triathlon with its 400 yd swim - 6.5 mile bike and 2 mile run course is a Super Sprint Triathlon designed for coed triathletes to conquer and feel good about. Swim in Folsom Lake, on scenic roads closed to traffic, and run on trails around the lake. Duathletes substitute a 2 mile run for the swim - and both Triathletes and Duathletes receive the GraniteMan Finisher Medal.
Start Time: GraniteMan Triathlon and Duathlon: 9 am.
Packet pick up: Race packets will be available race morning from 7 am to 9 am at the race site. The race will start promptly at 9 am. Be sure to give yourself plenty of time for entrance to the park, parking, transition set-up and warm-up.

Start waves will be determined based on race attendance and athlete safety. Please check with registration on race morning to confirm your exact start time.
Swim - The swim course will be a 400 yard swim in Folsom Lake, completely monitored by safety kayakers and lifeguards.
Bike - The bike course will be a 6.5 course on the roads inside the park at Folsom Lake, Granite Bay. The course will be closed to traffic and monitored for safety. The Bike course will Not have an aid station. Water and electrolyte beverage, along with energy gels will be available in the transition area.

Run - The run course will be a two-mile course around sections of the lake on trails and pavement. There will be an aid station at the start and half way on the run course. ALL athletes must wear their race number on the front of their body during the run and have it when crossing the finish line.

Transition Area - The Transition area for the GraniteMan Triathlon and Duathlon will be for athletes only. All non-athletes must remain outside of the transition area at all times during the race. Bodymarking will be take place at the entrance to the transition area and must be completed before you enter the transition area. Athletes will have their race number marked on their legs and arms and have their age division on their calf. Glass or bottles are not allowed in the transition area.
Aid stations will be located in the transition area and on the run course, serving cold water and Electrolyte beverage.
First place Overall Male and Female in the GraniteMan Triathlon and Duathlon will receive Overall Champion Awards. There will be awards five deep in each ten-year age group for the GraniteMan Triathlon and awards three deep in each ten-year age group for the Duathlon. Each finisher of the GraniteMan Duathlon and Triathlon will receive a GraniteMan Finisher Medal.
Expected water temperature for Folsom Lake will be 68-72 degrees. Wetsuits are optional. Swim fins and snorkels are not allowed. Helmets must be worn and buckled on the bike at all times. Run numbers must be worn on the run and when crossing the finish line. Listening devices of any kind: MP3, IPod, headphones, etc… are not allowed during the swim and bike leg of the race.
Included for each competitor is a GraniteMan Triathlon/Duathlon tech-tee race shirt, swim cap, athlete goody bag with CLIF Bar and Emerald Nuts product samples.
Post Race Athlete Food:
Included for each competitor is a post race meal of hot pasta with salad, fruit, cookies and beverage.
The post race sports expo will have vendors such as Total Body Fitness, Fleet Feet Sports, and Kinetic Cycles.
Free post race athlete massage will be provided courtesy of National Holistic Institute of Sacramento and Bryan College.
If you are a member of a Triathlon Club that has 10 or more athletes racing with TBF Racing we can provide Reserved bike racks in the transition area for your club, have your club set up a tent in the expo/athlete area, and hang your banners at the event. To take advantage of this program, TRI Clubs must send the list of 10 or more pre-registered athletes to Bill@totalbodyfitness.com 7-10 days prior to the race.
