Race Details

The Down and Dirty Duathlon has a 2 mile run - 6.5 mile road bike - 2 mile run - 6.5 mile mt bike course. Two Runs - Two Bike legs - with different bikes! The run and bike trails are all  beautiful, the road bike course is on roads closed to traffic and scenic. Entry includes tech t-shirt, hot post race meal, athlete goody bag, and raffle prizes.

The Down and Dirty Duathlon Distance: Run 2 miles - Road bike 6.5 miles – Run 2 miles  -  Mountain Bike 6.5 miles.

Fees: The Down and Dirty Duathlon

$40 til December 1st, $50 til race day, $60 race day
18 and under: $30 til December 1st, $40 til race day, $50 race day
Relay Teams: $70 til December 1st, $80 til race day, $90 race day





Start Time: The Down and Dirty Duathlon 10 am

Packet pick up: Saturday Feb 16 from 7 - 10 am at Race Site.

Race Features

Course Description:
Run – The 2 mile run course is the same for both legs of the race. The course will run on granite paths, single track trails, and a small section on pavement with an aid station at the start of the run and the half way point.

Mountain Bike - The 6.5 mile mountain bike course has all types of terrain: single track, hills, sand, mud and dirt, combined with beautiful scenery on the trails at Folsom Lake.

Road Bike - The 6.5 mile road bike course is entirely on closed roads within Folsom Lake State Park. The course has several turns and twisting corners winding through the oak forest bordering Folsom Lake. Care should be taken on several sharp turns so as not to exceed safe speed limits. It is recommended to ride or drive the course prior to racing upon the course.

Transition Area - The Transition area will be on a first-come basis. The transition area at all TBF Racing events is for athletes only. All non-athletes must remain outside of the transition area at all times on race day. Bodymarking will be take place at the entrance to the transition area and must be completed before you enter the transition area. Athletes will have their race number marked on their legs and arms and have their age division on their calf. Glass or bottles are not allowed in the transition area.

Aid Stations:
Aid stations will be located in the transition area and at mile one on the run course, serving cold water and Electrolyte beverage.

Divisions/Awards:
For the Down and Dirty Duathlon there will be 10-year age groups beginning with 19 and under and ending with 70+ for male and female individuals. Awards will be presented three-deep in each 10-year age group, with Overall Special Awards for first Male and Female finisher. For Relay Teams there will be first place for each division: male, female, and coed teams.

Equipment:
Listening devices of any kind: MP3, IPod, headphones, etc…are not allowed on the run or bike courses. Helmets must be worn and buckled on the bike at all times. Run numbers must be worn on the run and when crossing the finish line.

 


Race Extras
Competitor Goodies:
Included for each competitor is a custom tech-tee Down and Dirty Duathlon race shirt and athlete goody bag with CLIF Bar, Emerald Nuts, and other product samples.

Post Race Athlete Food:
Included for each competitor is a post race meal of hot soup or chili with fruit, cookies and beverage.

Training and Coaching:
TBF Training provides group workouts and coaching for the sport of Triathlon along with individual Multi-Sport Coaching and Personal Training.
